Welcome to the home page of expedition Expedícia Gorak Shep 2010. You can read about our astro-experiment on the next few pages.
For our experiments we chose extreme elevations of 5300 and 5600 m, which we hope will open some unique opportunities to test astronomical instruments for observing the night sky as well as the Sun, while stretching their performing limits. These tests and the acquired data can potentially be used to improve instruments used by public or by more serious observes. As a result, we could establish new opportunities for amateur astronomers and enthusiasts using smaller telescopes.
