52 days to go, and I am more than happy to say that the team is complete. Two women and four men. The return flight tickets from Vienna to Kathmandu are being sorted out, so the deposits for the sherpas and the exact program is completed. At the moment, we are preparing for the acclimatisation tour to the highest point of Austria - Grossglocker. Since the expedition is paid mostly from our pockets, we are in search for sponsors who would be willing to help us. It is not an easy task but we are very hopeful.
We also managed to persuade two experienced tourist guides to join our team. Both of them are from the association VÁNDORLÁSS, one of whom comes from Hungary, what makes our expedition international. Thanks boys.
In the next few weeks, apart from the acclimatisation process, we will begin testing our equipment and documenting steps for our experiments. From my previous solar eclipse trips I know, that there are always unforeseen events and to minimize them, testing of everything is a necessary step.
It is clear that to carry out astronomical observations at these extreme locations will be demanding physically as well as psychologically. I have to admit that it is going to be a tough task to all of us. However, I trust my team and I know we will succeed.
